NEWS ... We now have a silicon irradiance sensor that is self powered and comes with a cable set to connect it directly to a digital multimeter. The sensor has an internal Li-ion battery that will power the unit for 10 years. The sensor is calibrated so that one millivolt of output is equal to one watt per square meter of irradiance. In the photo below for example, the sensor output is 790 watts per square meter for irradiance (digital multimeter shown is not included in our scope of supply.)
